Website Privacy Policy

According to a survey by Georgetown University:

92.8% of commercial websites collect at least one type of personally identifiable information

90.9% of the websites in the survey collected e-mail addresses

81.2% collected names

Any website that you visit could collect information about you, unfortunately without your knowledge. There are ways to prevent most of this data collection, but it has to be done by you to your software, and you have to be a bit savvy. Websites can also track which site you just came from, and which site you are going to. Spanitz Consulting thinks this is really slimy and sneaky, and we do not care where you just came from or where you are going after this.

Spanitz Consulting's Website Privacy

Original - October 25, 1999. Matched to TrustE guidelines - December 29, 1999. Updated 1 June 2000.

Spanitz Consulting, Inc. has created this Privacy in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this website: www.spanitz.com. This statement follows the recommendations of our corporate lawyers and the nice people over at TrustE.org (the issuers of the eSafe seal). We are trying to fit our "we are not doing data collection" policy into the TrustE standard statement...hence the odd repeating and wording.

The Spanitz Consulting website equipment has the potential to collect your IP address. If this information is used, it would only be to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website.

The only way we get your e-mail address is if you send us an e-mail first.

Even if you send us an e-mail, we will not sell, barter, trade, or distribute your e-mail address to any other parties, unless you give us permission or specifically ask us to. If you send us an e-mail, your address is held in confidence, for use in communicating between Spanitz Consulting and you.

This site contains links to other sites. Spanitz Consulting (www.spanitz.com) is not responsible for the privacy practices nor the content of such other websites.

This website does not use cookies. Nor donuts...but we like donuts.

Public Forums

This site makes chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

Security

We do not collect information about you. As was stated above, any information that you decide to e-mail to us is held in strict confidence and is not released in any way to anyone else. If you choose to send an e-mail to us, we retain your e-mail information on a password-protected computer, in a password-protected application. Eric Spanitz is the only person with these passwords.

Children's Guidelines

We do not have any pages designed for children. Because there is no collecting, there certainly will not be any distributing of information that we do not have.

Choice/Opt-Out

We do not collect information about you. There is nothing to opt-out. But if you want to send us an e-mail to thank us for our non-intrusive policy, please e-mail away to web@spanitz.com.

Contacting the website

If you have any questions about this Privacy, the practices of this site, or your dealings with this website, you can contact us.

More legal stuff: Spanitz Consulting reserves the right to alter our Privacy as business needs require. Any changes to this Privacy will be posted on this website before any change in policy takes place. This statement and the policies outlined here are not intended to and do not give you contractual or other legal rights.
