Anti-Spyware and Troubleshooting Tools
BHOcop = This tool checks for Browser Helper Objects and gives you the ability to remove them or disable them. While Windows should give you this ability directly, it does not.
DCOMboobilator = This tools turns off the DCOM component of Windows XP.
KnockOut = This tool runs in the system tray, and enforces the complete exit of Word and Outlook. This fixes the problem of clicking to start Word or Outlook, but they do not, because they are "already running" yet not in any dimension accessible to most people.
Lookout = An indexing utility that runs inside Outlook that provides extensive searching across all e-mails and even outside documents found throughout your hard drive. Very fast and handy, especially for proposals, etc.
SamSpade = Automates the tracking down of who or what owns an IP address.
ShootTheMessenger = Turns off the built-in system administrator messenger service, so that those annoying floating messages no longer bother you at websites.
SpamBayes = Hooks into Outlook to automagically deal with spam messages.
SpamEncoder = Turns e-mail addresses on websites into usable yet un-spam-able.
SpyBotS&D = Removes spyware and immunizes against other infections.
UnPNP = Turns off the Universal Plug and Play.
VNC-server-client = This application sets up a server that can accept incoming calls to share the server's desktop with the remote client.
VNC-client-only = This application is used to access a VNC server to see and take control of that server's desktop.
